Canada meets Sweden on Saturday night in the final group play game at the 2023 World Juniors.
Connor Bedard has been lighting up the competition and has helped Canada to back-to-back beatdowns. After a seven-point performance in the 11-2 win over Germany, the 17-year-old phenom had six points in the 11-0 blanking of Austria.
Bedard leads the tournament in goals (six), assists (eight) and points (14). He also tied Jordan Eberle’s Team Canada goal record at the World Juniors by scoring his 14th tally on Thursday.

Sweden grabbed a big victory last time out by defeating Czechia 3-2 in overtime. Ludvig Jansson had two goals in the game, including the game-winner.
The only way the Canadians can pass the Swedes is with a regulation win. Sweden just needs to earn at least a point in order to finish ahead of Canada. Both teams’ positioning will be impacted by the result of the Czechia-Germany game.
